The Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia on Friday reported that Dmytro Berezhnyi, Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, had met with Giorgi Zurabashvili, Georgia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister.
According to the Embassy, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine’s and Georgia’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within their internationally recognised borders.
“Giorgi Zurabashvili was briefed on recent developments in Ukraine related to the consequences of missile and drone attacks by Russian armed forces on civilian targets and critical infrastructure, which have resulted in numerous civilian casualties”, the Embassy said.
The sides also expressed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial bilateral relations across areas of shared interest and to continue coordinating their efforts within multilateral cooperation frameworks, particularly through the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM.
Zurabashvili highlighted opportunities for cooperation, including those related to Georgia’s strategic infrastructure projects for Ukraine, particularly in the context of developing the Middle Corridor.
Berezhnyi thanked the Georgian Government for its political support within international and regional organisations, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine.
