Georgia’s economy has maintained a strong pace of growth in recent years, Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Tbilisi Financial Summit, Kvrivishvili said Georgia’s financial system was characterised by resilience and technological advancement. She added that expanding access to finance, developing the capital market and diversifying funding sources remained among the government’s key priorities.
“As the Prime Minister mentioned, the country’s economy grew by 7.5% last year, while average annual economic growth in 2021-2025 stood at 9.3%, supported by the government’s consistent economic policy, structural reforms and a favourable investment environment”, she said.
“Significant reforms have been implemented in recent years in the areas of investment funds, securities and other financial instruments. These reforms lay the groundwork for attracting new investment and expanding financing opportunities for the private sector. Tangible results are already evident: the corporate bond market continues to grow significantly, while more investors and businesses are showing interest in investment funds”, the Economy Minister added.
Kvrivishvili also highlighted the development of Georgia’s innovation ecosystem and technology sector.
“We attach particular importance to developing the innovation ecosystem, supporting technological entrepreneurship and deepening cooperation with international partners. I believe that the development of the financial sector and technology, together with regional cooperation, will create significant opportunities for both Georgia and our partner countries”, she concluded.
Kvrivishvili opened the Tbilisi Financial Summit alongside Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and National Bank of Georgia President Natia Turnava.
More than 800 participants from around 60 countries, including approximately 100 high-level speakers, are taking part in the summit.
