Georgia’s First Lady visits Vatican, meets Pope Leo XIV

Georgia’s First Lady, Tamar Bagrationi, on Friday met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, conveying the greetings and respects of the Georgian President and people and wishing the Pontiff a long life.

The meeting was organised and facilitated by Georgia’s Ambassador to the Holy See, David Mekvabishvili.

During the meeting, the First Lady presented the Pope with a commemorative gift: a hand-painted ceramic piece crafted at the Phoka St. Nino Convent.

Georgia’s Ambassador to Italy, Tamar Liluashvili, was also present at the meeting.
